The reindeer have been herded up and transported to alternate storage for awhile. Too much Christmas, not enough space! 7 deer, 1 snowman, and 4-part train all now hibernating.
We had a lot of fun last year, and can't wait for this year's show! Changing things up a bit. Look for more leaping arches, more tree lights, and most importantly newer lighting technologies!! RGB lighting offers the ability to create an array of different colors, using a more do-it-yourself approach to Christmas lighting. Stay tuned!!
We will run the show extended hours till 10:30pm this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Merry Christmas!!
We hope everyone has enjoyed the show so far this year! We still plan on running through the New Year for now. The next couple days call for rain on and off. This could cause parts of the light show to shut off, as water and electricity don't always play nice together. We will do our best to reset tripped GFI circuits when this occurs. We would love to hear feedback on what everyone thinks of the show so far :)
We have been decorating for the holidays for probably 7 years now, but nothing to this extent. We kinda got the nitch for it in 2014, and I knew I wanted to go bigger and better. We've always enjoyed driving around the neighborhood to see some nice displays, with close friends or now even our own kids. There's a really nicely compiled list put out by Rochester KidsOutandAbout (see link page) that you can reference to make your trip out worthwhile. We decided that our show was good enough this year to be put on the list, so we included ourselves. That was the only advertising we have done other than to friends, family and neighbors. We were quite humbled to hear the news that we were mentioned in the Democrat & Chronicle!! Being our first year doing an animated display, we weren't expecting this. There may be some some additions or minor lighting changes the rest of this year, but the majority of this year's display is final. Preparations for next year's display (as long as the neighborhood still supports us!!) have already begun. Now you can say, "I wonder what new ideas they have for next year?" HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!! ~ The Schoepfel's
